When I opened my mind up to the possiblitiy of combining wood with antique metal in my chairs, it brought
out this combination appearing in my other
work as well. When my wife suggested I make walking sticks,
I
found the perfect artistic outlet for that combination.
My walking sticks feature red maple staffs and are adorned
with antique door knobs/handles, turned wooden pieces, and a combination of antique and newer metal. For example,
it would not be unusual to find an antique faucet one one end of the staff and an antique hose spout at the other.
These "environmentally-friendly transportation devices" are sure to be conversation pieces wherever your
travels may take you!
